Whiskey Rocks

This is a favorite product of our founders.  All three have very distinct lifestyles and our Soapstone Rocks easily accommodate each one of them in different ways.

Justin, who puts his love for whiskey 4th after family, friends, and God, takes a few of these stones from the freezer, pours a few ounces of his favorite whiskey over what he refers to as “Soapstone Whiskey Rocks,” and enjoys a cool, non-diluted spirit.

Steve and John, who prefer the caffeinated lifestyle than Justin, puts their “Coffee Stones” in the microwave for 2 minutes and drop them in their tea or coffee in the morning.  They are constantly impressed when, after an unexpected hour long phone call, they go to take a sip of their coffee or tea and it is still warm.Ice Cubes | Whiskey Ice Cubes | Coffee Stones | Soapstone Ice

What ever your lifestyle preferences, I can assure you that these stones can add a smile and a sense of satisfaction to your day.

We make these stone in 2 difference sizes which both have the following features;

Soapstone Ice Rocks will chill your liquor without diluting it.

Because soapstone retains its temperature longer than ice, Soapstone Ice Rocks provide for a more sustained chill.

Ice rocks hold their temperature out of the freezer for 1 hour or more.

Soapstone Ice Rocks have been sent through a tumbling process to wear down the edges, meaning they won’t scratch your glass.

Never wear out or lose their ability to chill your drinks.

Soapstone is non-porous, odorless and tasteless.

Soapstone will not react to household cleaners.

Comments

  1. If you use them in hot coffee will they burn your lips if they slide to the top of your cup while drinking ?

    • Yes, you shouldn’t touch these stones with your bear skin if they are hot.

If you don’t have the stones, they are very heavy and thus will tend to stay on the bottom of your cup, but we can’t promise they will stay there.

  2. David Acton says:

The stones add a chill to room temperature spirits without dilution. Here’s the result of my science experiment:

I placed 6 stones (from an overnight in freezer) in a room temperature (68 deg) Waterford crystal whiskey tumbler, and added a 1 1/2 oz. shot of room temperature Scotch.

    Time Temp
    0 68 deg (F)
    30 sec 53 deg
    60 sec 47 deg
    90 sec 44 deg
    5 min 44 deg
    6 min 47 deg
    10 min 51 deg
    30 min 55 deg

So they do chill your drink, but I especially like the result that don’t make it ice cold. Enjoy Whisky as it was meant to be!

  3. I love mine and so I bought them as gifts because I also thought they were adorable. Who can resit warm rocks! I am using them to keep my morning Mochatonix(R) warm. I get distracted while going thru the morning computer routine and am so looking forward to keeping my drink warm. I am a bit confused though. The box says heat for 30 seconds, this site says 2 minutes. I know that 30 seconds barely makes them warm so i am creaping up to 2 minutes. I just don’t want them to explode…I realize this sounds crazy but exploding rocks would not be good for the microwave. So I am thinking 2 minutes is ok, Thanks for a great product.

  4. I am wondering what is it made of? is it real stone? none toxin etc….?

  5. How ’bout in a pitcher of beer?

  6. I’ll put them in my beer ! CHeers.

  7. How well do they handle thermal shock? I was thinking of freezing them and using them to help cool my coffee down in the morning instead of ice cubes.

    • hey handle it extremely well. We sell a griddle and can be heated to 500 degrees which will not crack if cold water introduced.

  8. Venkat Dasigi says:

Can I leave them in the freezer when I am not using them?

  9. I just received a set of these stones and they are amazing. They are perfect for a nice glass of whiskey after a long day of work!

  10. Wonder if you can use these in a martini shaker.. they may be too heavy

    • Per our website, we do not recommend this. We have certainly seen some banged up shakers in the past.

      • I had a similar set of whiskey stones which had not been tumbled (so the edges were left somewhat sharp). When I put them in a shaker, they left a fine grit at the bottom, presumably small chips from the edges of the stones. As these have been tumbled, the risk is somewhat lower, but I am sure it would cause wear to the stones (and your shaker, as the admin has stated).

  11. Are these rocks dishwasher safe?

  12. Dave Austin says:

Perfect for a quick chill in wine I’ll bet!!! No one wants ice to dilute their wine! Cheers!

    • Brandee says:

You guys must have had a few shots before writing the copy on your websit, especially the section on the whiskey rocks! I say that due to all the grammatical errors that jumped off the page. I am still very interested in purchasing your product. If your skills are product development, just let someone with more accurate English edit your copy.
